**Tilimsan'ın Fethi**, 1518'de Osmanlı amirali [Oruç Reis](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Oru%C3%A7_Reis)'in [Tilimsan](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Tilimsan) şehrini, [Banu Zayan](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Abd%C3%BClv%C3%A2d%C3%AEler) hanedanının son üyesi olan Abu Zayan'ın elinden almasıyla gerçekleşti.[^1]

Tilimsan'ın fethini, Ténès şehrinin de Oruç Reis ve kardeşi [Hayreddin](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Barbaros_Hayreddin_Pa%C5%9Fa) tarafından ele geçirilmesi izledi.[^2] [Tilimsan Sultanı](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Tilimsan_Krall%C4%B1%C4%9F%C4%B1) daha sonra [Fes](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Fes%2C_Fas)'e kaçtı.[^3] Oruç kendini Tilimsan kralı ilan etti.[^4] Ebu Zayan hanedanının tek kurtulan, üyesi Şeyh Buhammud, Oran'a kaçtı ve İspanya'nın yardımını istedi.

Bu zafer Oruç Reis'in İspanyol kontrolü altındaki Oran'ın arkasındaki taşra bölgeyi kontrol etmesini sağladı. Oran'daki İspanyol üssü Oruç Reis'in tedarik yollarını engelliyordu.[^5] Bu zafer, Oruç Reis'in [Fransız Cezayiri](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Frans%C4%B1z_Cezayiri) büyüklüğündeki hatırı sayılır bir bölgeye hakim olmasını sağladı.[^6]

Ancak İspanyollar, 1518'de Oran'a 70 mil (110 km) uzaklıkta bulunan Tilimsan'a bir saldırı düzenleyerek kısa sürede reaksiyon gösterdi ve Oruç Reis'i öldürmeyi başardı. Tilimsan'ı da ele geçirdiler.[^7]

Kısa süre sonra ise Fas kralı büyük bir ordu topladı ve İspanyolları kovmak için Tilimsan'a yürüdü.[^8]
