**Sofya Sancağı** (Софийски санджак), [Osmanlı İmparatorluğu](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Osmanl%C4%B1_%C4%B0mparatorlu%C4%9Fu)'nun [sancak](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Sancak_%28idari_birim%29)larından biriydi. Sancağın merkezi [Sofya](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Sofya) idi.

## Tarihçe

Sofya Sancağı 1393 yılında kuruldu. Kurulduktan sonra sancak [Rumeli Eyaleti](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Rumeli_%28eyalet%29)'nin paşa sancağı haline geldi.[^1] Sancağın ilk [sancakbeyi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Sancakbeyi) ise "Sofya Fatihi" olarak da bilinen [İnce Balaban Bey](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/%C4%B0nce_Balaban_Bey) idi.[^2]

1846-1864 yılları arasında sancak [Niş Eyaleti](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Ni%C5%9F_%28eyalet%29)'ne bağlı olup[^3] 1864 yılında [Tuna Vilayeti](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Tuna_Vilayeti)'ne bağlandı.[^4]

[93 Harbi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/93_Harbi)'nin ardından 13 Temmuz 1878 tarihinde düzenlenen [Berlin Kongresi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Berlin_Kongresi) ile sancak tüm Kuzey Bulgaristan ile birlikte [Bulgaristan Prensliği](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Bulgaristan_Prensli%C4%9Fi)'ne bağlandı. Cuma-i Bala kazası ise [Gümülcine Sancağı](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/G%C3%BCm%C3%BClcine_Sanca%C4%9F%C4%B1)'na bağlandı.
