# Simmas

**Simmas**, [Bizans İmparatorluğu](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Bizans_%C4%B0mparatorlu%C4%9Fu) hizmetinde [*dux*](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Dux) olarak görev yapan bir [Hun](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Hunlar) generaliydi.[^1] 6. yüzyılın başlarında [Dara Muharebesi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Dara_Muharebesi)’nde aktif olarak görev aldı ve bir diğer Hun komutan Ascan ile birlikte altı yüz atlıya komuta ederek Bizans zaferinde önemli bir rol oynadı.

[Dara Muharebesi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Dara_Muharebesi)’nde diğer Hun komutanları Aïgan, Ascan ve Sunicas ile birlikte [Bizanslılar](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Bizans_%C4%B0mparatorlu%C4%9Fu) adına [Sasani İmparatorluğu](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Sasani_%C4%B0mparatorlu%C4%9Fu)’na karşı savaştı. O ve Ascan sağ cenahtaki Hun süvari kuvvetlerini komuta ederken, Aigan ve Sunicas Hun süvarilerinin sol cenahını komuta ediyordu.[^2]

Simmas daha sonra [İberya Savaşı](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/%C4%B0berya_Sava%C5%9F%C4%B1)’nda da savaştı. O ve Sunicas, [Callinicum Muharebesi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Callinicum_Muharebesi)’nde Hun süvarilerine liderlik etti.[^3][^4][^5] Savaş sonucunda Sasaniler bir [Pyrrhus zaferi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Pirus_zaferi) elde etti. [Malalas](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/%C4%B0oannis_Malalas)’a göre Simmas ve Ascan Bizans'ın tamamen bozguna uğramasını engellediler.[^6]
