**Hoca Sefer** (1501, [Puglia](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Puglia) - 1546), 16. yüzyılın ilk yarısında [Gücerat](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Gucer%C3%A2t)'ta [Osmanlı](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Osmanl%C4%B1_%C4%B0mparatorlu%C4%9Fu) yanlısı güçlerden sorumlu bir Osmanlı kaptanıydı. Osmanlı kaptanı [Selman Reis](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Selman_Reis) tarafından konumlandırılan Hoca Sefer, [Diu](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Diu)'da, [Diu Kalesi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Diu_Kalesi)'ni [Portekizliler](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Portekizliler)e karşı korumakla görevlendirildi. Osmanlılar ile Portekizliler arasındaki çatışma, 1536'da [Guceratlı Sultan Bahadır Şah](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Bahad%C4%B1r_%C5%9Eah_%28G%C3%BCcer%C3%A2t_Sultan%C4%B1%29)'ın Osmanlı müdahalesi talebinin ardından 1538'de Diu Kuşatması ile iyice kızıştı.
