Ascum, Bizans İmparatorluğu'nun Hun generaliydi. Illyricum Praetorian vilayetinin komutanıydı. Hem Theophanes hem de George Kedrenos onun adını "Ακούμ" (Acum) olarak çevirmektedir.[1]Martindale, Jones & Morris (1992), p. 136
