Hükümdarlığı 453 yılından 454 yılına kadar 2 yıl sürmüştür. [Nedao Muharebesi](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Nedao_Muharebesi)nde öldürülmüştür.[^3]

## Etimoloji

Pek çok bilim adamı Ellac'ı [Eski Türkçe](https://turkipedia.org/tr/wiki/Eski_T%C3%BCrk%C3%A7e) älik / ilik / ilig ("prens, hükümdar, kral)" benzeri bir sözcükden türetmiştir; bu sözcük \*el (bölge) + lä-g (yönetmek, kural koymak) sözcüğünden türemiştir. Bu nedenle ad, kişisel bir addan çok bir unvan gibi görünmektedir.
